Hill Walking

As well as the beautiful coastal and inland walks some of the Caha mountain range is more challenging but rewarding, try Hungry hill or for the less adventurous but with stunning views Knockatee, a visit to Helen's bar on Kilmakillogue is highly recommended after a climb up Knockatee.

Arts and Crafts

There are several art galleries to visit, all of which featuring artwork by local artists. Themes of nature, the handmade and Irish tradition echo throughout the galleries. A wide selection of paintings, sculpture, handmade ceramics, hand-turned wood, handmade jewellery and textiles can be seen all year round. Look out for kids summer-festival art camps held in various villages around Beara throughout the summer months!

Beaches

As a Coastal area, there are many beaches dotted around the area which have a choice of rocky and sandy shores. Beautiful and unspoilled, on a warm day they are perfect for any amount of family activities. 

Scenic Walks and Hiking

There is no shortage of fresh air in Beara so what better way to take it all in than to visit some of the many beautiful walking or hiking trails, ranging from shady woodland walks, to rugged coastline trails, to the peaks of the Caha Mountains.

Horse Riding and Pony Trekking

West cork Sailing, Adrigole is great for all water sports and Star Outdoor Adventure Centre Kenmare invites their visitors to take part in a fantastic amount of both water and landbased sports.
